    Horses are very useful animals for doing all kinds of work. The plough and mow and draw heavy loads.
    They are very strong animals. They are well fed with hay and oats in the Winter and in Summer they are fed on grass. They have to be kept well shod and this is very expensive. It cost about six shilling for a set of shoes. Pigs are kept in larg quantities by the farmers. When they are
