  1. The Potato Crop.
    My father is a farmer and he has about five statute acres of land under potatoes this year. The amount differs every year and it is my father who prepares the ground.
    Sometimes there is manure put out on the grass before it is turned up and the potatoes are sown in both ridges and drills.
    This is the way the drills are made. Firstly there is manure put out on the field and spread. Then the ground is ploughed and harrowed and in a while after it is again ploughed and harrowed. the drills are then opened with a plough. Then the potatoes are
