    Branchs or emblems are not put in barns to bring luck but sometimes a cross made of straw is hung inside the door for the same reason.
    There are many old customs and beliefs connected with milking but the people do not believe in them. It was said that it is unlucky to give away milk to anyone on May day and also that if a women upset a can with milk in it while milking that it was what the fairies wanted it.
