  1. My Home District
My home district is Clooncagh Hines in the parish of Carniska in the county of Roscommon. There are 10 families in Clooncagh Hines and about forty five people in it.
Cuffe is the family name most common in the district. All the houses are one story and are neatly thatched. Clooncagh means 'the field of the (f) battle' as long a battle was fought in this district. The houses were more numerous in former times.
There are houses in ruins which people died in and others emigrated to America.
In some parts of Clooncagh the land is good but there is a good part of it boggy.
