  1. A leiprechan is generally called a fairy. He is only a feur inches tall. He usually lives under a tree in a wood. He is so tiny that he can fit under a muchroom.
Leiprechans are able to do all classes of work, but they are generally engaged in shoemaking. They are supposed to have a jar of gold hidden under a tree, in a castle or under a hill. People often went to them to try to find out where they had the gold. The leiprechans always tries to get the person to look away. If he did so the person kept his eyes fixed on the leiprechan and persisted in asking to be shown where the gold was he sometimes received some.
A leiprechan often threatened to kill anyone that displeased him. The person then tried to save his life by pleasing the leiprechan.
