    In by-gone years many customs were carried out. It was customary in this locality to tie a red tape on a cow's tail before calving to save her from the "Evil Eye". When a man got his hair cut he took a pinch of salt three times, and put a pinch in the fire so that the fairies would not bring him. This was another custom.
