    Our Village Fairymount is situated between Castlerea + Frenchpark. It is a Fair sized Village but it was much larger long ago. It is said that from Lisdrumneil cross roads to Fairymount a distance of half a mile there were about thirty-eight [interlined with carat: "houses"] while now there are only about four.
    There was an old house at the cross roads and a man named Foley lived in it and my grandmother bought some of his [written above: "land"] + Father Monahon bought the rest. Our stable is built now where his house was
    It is said that man was a great story teller + that all the people used to ramble in his house every-night to listen to his stories.
