    nail a piece of fine ledder on the back then usually they don't make the tacks themselves.
    When they are making baskets they get all sorts of rods big and small. If they are making a round basket they get the rim of a wheel of a bicycle and they weave the rods in and out and make the shape of a basket. Pat Duffy makes these baskets yet.
    They make mats out of straw. They plat it together and sew the end of it. Michael Connolly used to make these mats but he's dead now.
    They make cliabhs too. They are made like baskets. They stick the thick rods down in the ground and plat the thinner rods round the thick ones. They use these cliabhs for carrying turf. Patrick Giblin makes cliabhs

    Long ago people made their own habits before they died, or got them made locally.
    They got brown cloth and gave it to a neighbor to make. These people made it not like how we make them now. But very long and wide and lace to the bottom and around the collar. They they got them blessed &
