  1. 1.
O Jesus pity those poor souls
    Who burn in cleansing fire
To soon behold you face to face
    Is now their one desire
    They cannot help themselves today
And so they seek our aid
That their admittance to your heart
    Be not Too long delayed
    2.
Hear then our prayers for them
    Those souls
    Are to you very dear
    Our relatives perhaps or friends
Who once were with us here
    Now suffering in devouring flames
    They long for sweet release
Oh Jesus grant those Holy Souls
    Eternal rest and peace.
