  1. There was a man, whose name was Mr. Lawrence living in the rent office in Boyle and he went around collecting the rent in the olden times. One day he had a fight with the parish priest. The fight was over a piece of land and Mr. Lawrence defied the priest. The priest was very angry and he said to him, ''Go home and wash your face but you will never wash it white'', and then Mr. Lawrence's face turned a pure-blue colour and no matter what he did he could not make it white.
