    Farewell to Boyle, to lakes, and all that span my native town,

    Farewell to Boyle, to lakes, and all that span my native town,
    Each crystal rill and tall fair hill that look serenely down.
    The school-house o'er the river, the green islands and the mill,
    And your pleasant cot, Frank Higgins, 'tis plain I see it still.
    The Cascade roars beside the town where trout and salmon play,
    And every thrush upon the bush corols its merry lay.
