  1. St Bridgets Days. There is another St Bridget and her day falls on the second of February.
    When Our Lord was going to be presented in the temple and Our Lady was to be purified she did not want anyone to be looking at her. St Bridget got a harrow and she got the pins taken out and she stuck candles in every one of the holes and she carried it on her head. Every one was looking at her and nobody paid any heed to Our Lady. It was on that day Candlemas Day was instituted first.
