- There is a field behind Tom McLoughlin's of Bridge-Cartron where mass used to be read in Penal days. The trace of the altar with the cross on it is there yet. During later years, this place was changed to a graveyard where unbaptised children were buried.
Here too an old tree called Crannmore, which coulc be seen fifteen miles away, was growing in the graveyard. This tree which has fallen within the last five years and the remains of which are still to be seen, gets it name because there is no tree in(continues on next page)- Collector
