- The cure of the boil is got by getting a leaf called locally "Croagh Pádraig" or St. Patrick's Leaf. This leaf, is green and is about half the size of a dock-leaf. The seven veins which the leaf contains are fist cut out. Then the leaf is made smooth, and warmed to the fire and put on the boil.The cure of the burn of made by getting lime-juice and putting it on the burn.(continues on next page)
