  1. The cure of the burn is made by a woman named Mrs. Price who lives in the townland of Derrynadouglas, about a half mile from Bridge-Cartron N. S. She makes this cure by mixing lard, bee's wax and an herb together. By rubbing this mixture on the affected part the burn is cured.
    If a person who has whooping cough and drinks milk which a ferret leaves after him he is cured. It is also cured by getting a husband and wife whose maiden-name was the same as that of her husband to take a drink of milk, and to give the person who has the whooping-cough the rest of the milk out of the same vessel from which the two people have already drunk.
