The Dineen river rises in the Townland and flows until it reaches the nore at Dysart Bridge. It is said that Saint patrick cursed the slippy stones of the Dineen river because one day as he was crossing it he slipped. It is told too that Saint patrick cursed the rushes. He said that the top of a rush no matter how young will not have a green top.
The land in the townland is marshy, hilly, and consists of a great amount of Bogs.
