- There are many local roads in the district, namely, the Ardenteggle road, the Monavea road, the Pike road, and the cuts of Killeshin
The Ardenteggle road runs from Tolerton cross to Rossmore. It is about two and a half miles long and it is very crooked.
The Monavea road leads from Mayo Chapel to Lawlors cross It is one and a half miles long It is crooked also. It gets its name from the country it passes through
The Pike road leads from Killeshin cross to Crettyard It is a straight road about four(continues on next page)
