    used to go round the kiln three times in the name of the Devil. One night as they were going round it, the ball of wool was held and they never went near it again.
    There is a field in Woodlands called the "Rath - field." It is called the "Rath - field" because there is a rath in it. It is said that there are fairies heard dancing and singing in it at night. There is a field in Ballinakill called "Mary Nolan's" field. It is called this name because a woman named Mary Nolan lived in it long ago.
