    years ago there used be a sports held each year at a place called Gazebo now called Moneenroe. It used to be a great annual event and walkers, runners, jumpers etc. from over the country used attend.
    An old man and his son from Moneenroe used win prizes for walking every year. Martin Delaney was the father's and the son's name. A man named Willie Lawlor from Durrow would carry off the best prizes for all the running events. Some Barnes fellow from Dublin, was one of the best cyclists and Micheal Gleeson of Durrow excelled in the high and long jumps.
    The best step dancers were the Delaney's, Loves, Kellys and Brennans. All
