    most common is Lynam. There is only one very old person in the district. Her name is Mrs Brennan, Dromagh, Crettyard Leix. She is not able to speak Irish. Most of the houses are thatched. Houses were not more numerous in olden times. People did not emigrate to any other countries. There are not very many ruined houses in the district
