  1. When the people were so numerous in the country there was more work done by hand and more help need on the farm so there was less unemployment then now. Before machinery came into everyday use.
    1. Tailors went from house to house making suits for men.
    2. Women made shirts for men, and clothes for women and children by hand.
    3. Weavers and Spinners prepared woolen and linen materials.
    4. Men crushed corn all through the winter.
    5. Cooper made churns and dairy
    9. Slanes men cut high on the hay, while boys and girls spread...and helped save it
    10.Reapero cut corn with reaping hook or scythe, the brinding being all done by hand. "Meadows were mowed with the scythe, all the subsequent...of hay making...done entirely by hand.
    12. Shoe makers made boots and shoes(or gpozan) re-soled and repaired worn boots
    13. Harness makers made and repaired harness, lacking
    14. Coach builders made carriages for gentry, site cars or traps for the farmers
    15. Thatchers were numerous:
    16. Slone masons, 17. Plasterers, 18. carpenters, 19. house- carpenters, 20. painters, 21. blacksmiths, millers and, ...smiths
    Old jim balls of the heath is considered the best thatchery in Ireland. He does splendid work.
