    Where the grave-yard is to-day once there stood a church. The people of the townsland used to come to Mass there despite the risk of being killed by English soldiers who were hunting them
    Once a priest was captured there and by a lucky turn of events he escaped and made his gateway to the Cullenagh Mountains where he remained for three weeks suffering from hardship He went back to the church to celebrate Mass. He was again captured and brutally murdered. The people buried him sorrowfully. They also planted trees as a memorial
