  1. In Raheen there is a very large hedge near by the schoolhouse. It is the place where school was taught many years ago. It is called Keegans Hedge because it was Mr John Keegan who taught school there. The hedge is cut in a slope where the boys could shelter if it was raining. It is said that some people have parts of the old seats which they keep in a box. The hedge is still cut in a slope by Mr Mulhall.
