  1. In the townsland of Trumera about three miles from Mountrath in Clegg's field there is a place called Cobbler's Pit. There is gold hidden in the pit by the cobbler. Some of the old people say that he was a fairy cobbler and on moonlight nights on rare occasions he may be seen near the pit working at his trade. He wears a tall red hat and pointed shoes. If one were lucky enough to catch him unawares he would tell you where the gold is to be found
