- Mass Paths through certain lands were to be found in Ireland long ago during the Penal Times. Some of them can still be seen although not used now a days. There was a Mass Path from Derryfore and Ballypickas and Heywood to Ballinakill.
Mass was celebrated in Heywood at the edge of a lake known ever since as "Mass Lough" The path leading to it is known as the "Double Ditch and is still used by the people of that(continues on next page)
