  1. Local Ruins
    There is an ancient church in Clonking. it was built before the Cromwellian time, about the middle of the 17 century. The walls of this church are still standing, it is surrounded by a graveyard which is still in use. There are some ancient tombstones in it. It is said that there were seven bishops buried there. Tradition tells us that there was a well in one corner of this graveyard, it is said that when the Cromwellian soldiers were ravaging the churches, that the local priest put a chalice in the well for
