    back. My people say that those beals are safer than chains.
    Palm is supposed to keep sickness from the stock when hung up on the roof of the cow house. A cross made from rushes on the 1st of February and hung up in either the kitchen or cow house is supposed to keep away fire. If you rob a swallow's nest that is in the cow house the cows are supposed to milk blood because there are three drops of Devils blood in each swallow.
    If a May bush is put before the door and an egg shell put on it a good supply of eggs may be expected for the rest of the year.
