  1. I heard about the Great Famine from my aunt Annie Fingleton she lives in Ballypickas. She heard it from her aunt Mrs Gorman who lives in Benardsgrove. My aunt was born in Ballyroan she spent most of her time in Ballypickas. She is a dress-maker. She heard this story about ten years ago. Her aunt was 80 years of age that time. I wrote about the Great Famine on the 14th March 1938.
