It was situated in Gorman's field, owned by Mr James Walshe now. In the Penal times, this school was erected by the people of the neighbourhood, for the purpose of educating their children.
The teacher who first taught there, was Mr Walshe. He was a grandfather of the present Mr James Walshe, who owns the field, Mr Gorman also taught there, and it is his name the field bears.
