  1. "See! the pretty snowflakes
    Falling from the sky!
    On the walls and housetop
    Soft and thick they lie
    On the window ledges,
    On the branches bare,
    See how soft they gather
    Filling all the air".
    This marks the beginning of a fall of snow. The weather previously is cold and the sky is of a leaden colour.
    By and by the soft feathery flakes come down in millions, and cover every place with a lovely white mantle. It is delightful to take a walk on the soft snow.
    Everywhere we go, we can be traced. The dogs seem to take a special delight in the snow. They race along the ground, and cover themselves with "the powdery snow that rises up like smoke.
    A fall of snow is not always so delightful. It certainly beautifies the landscape and clears the air, but when a heavy
