  1. There was a small farmer living in Ballyconra and he had six cows and the cows never milked a drop of milk. One summer's morning he went out to catch the horse and he saw a hare sucking the cows. He stole into the yard and got the greyhound and set him after the hare. The hare ran into the ruins of an old house and as he was going in through a window the dog caught him by the hind leg and when the man went into the house there was a little woman there with her hip all bleeding and the cows milked ever after.
