The people of this district called him a hero ever after his great work. There lived in Ballacolla, a great man named Thomas Phelan. He was famous for weigh-lifting. It is said that he could lift a barrel of wheat without any help. The people tell also that he could wind the biggest tram of hay by himself. This man is now a few years dead. After his death, the fold of Ballacolla honoured him as a great hero.
