  1. The Old Road
In olden times there was a road coming from Knock-Rue through Mannin, Cashel, where it met the old Dublin road. There are parts of the old road to be found still. This road is supposed to be a part of the great main road that ran from Tara to the South West of Ireland through Ballaghmore and Roscrea. Parts of the road can be plainly seen at Cashel. It ran between Borris and the river nore. It is used but people going through their farms. This old road ran from Knock Roe and crossed the Dublin Limerick road at Colonel Hardings gate. This road went through Cashel and the Brandy Bush was on it. On this road the man carried the Brandy with a horse and cart. He was killed on the road at the Brandy Bush and that is why that Bush is called the Brandy Bush. This old road ran through a bog and it is flooded during the winter months.
