  1. Dan Dowling and Maurice of Clonmeen were noted step dancers. They won prizes at Agricultural Shows and at the Flower Shows which used to be held in Lord Castletown's Demesne. They were taught by a dancing mistress who lived in Rathdowney.
    Joe Finn and Tim Maher were good singers. Frank Ringwood of Graigue and Con Parkinson of Clonmeen were good storytellers.
