  1. About 80 years ago a woman was drawing water from a well called the Manor which is about 41/2 miles east of Rathdowney. A priest asked for a drink. She refused and the priest told her that before night they would have plenty of water. That evening the well overflowed and a torrent of water of water rushed down upon the village which caused a beautiful lake. There is a small island in the middle of it and many
