  1. A long time ago a man named Fanning started a nailers shop on the east end of the Square on the north side of the street. They made nails for a long time until thirty years ago they started to make them by machinery. Then Mr Fanning died and Mr J O'Brien bought the shop and built a house there. This story was told to me by a very old woman named Mrs Leahy of the Square Rathdowney who is about 80 years and she remembers them to be
