    Long ago there was a witch living somewhere...

    Long ago there was a witch living somewhere near Rathdowney. Her name was Sarah Kennedy. The priests well knew about her cures and told the people to beware of her. She lived in a little house down a narrow lane. One night the parish priest was out on a sick call. When he was coming home he had to pass the head of her lane. When the horse was coming up near the lane he stopped and would not go any further. The priest blindfolded the horse as he had heard that was a good plan and the horse went on. When the priest was coming past the lane he seen half a body
