    One night Mrs, Delaney was going home from the station. It was dark and she was expecting a car for to meet her. While she was walking along she heard a car. She sat down in the ditch until the car would come up to her. When the car came near her it went over the ditch and disappeared. She saw it no more.

    One night a man was going home from town and he went into a house for to ramble. He stayed in it until it got late.The people of the house did not want him to go home but he did. When he went as far as the Derrylahan road he was put unto the ditch. When he got up he could go not further and he had to go back again.

    One night a man by the name of Jim Cordial was coming home from Mountrath in a cart. When he was half way he looked around and saw two big eyes looking in over the cart at him. When he came near his own house he looked around and saw them again. It was only his own dog that followed him.
