Long ago a man was coming home from town by Ballyhoran. When he was coming up by Joe Delaneys he saw a black thing in the ditch. He went over to the ditch and he saw a heap of tacklings belonging to a horse. When he touched the tacklings he leaped eight fathoms from the ground.

One night a man was going home from Coolrain. He could not go home his own road, no matter how hard he tried. He was taking another road, and he was beaten against the ground. He could not go home. After some time he knelt down and started to pray. He could see no one beating him. After he saying some prayers he was able to go home.
