  1. Song by John Dooley

tis these five hundred years since Patrick came,

'Tis thrice five hundred years since Patrick came,
With Gospel tidings to the Clann no Gael.
Since then the lamp faith kept still
And yet still brightly burns in Innisgail
For which we Faithful Celts Hosannas sing
Unto Almighty God and Christ the KIng.
These Gaels being still refined received the Faith
With one acclaim from Friends Patron saint
And to it firmly cling e'er to the death
And it ever pure and free you all.
Search in rain another land to know with such a record as is ours to show.
'Tis doubtful too if down the ages long
Another christian land was ever known
Where cruel Penal Laws were fierce and strong
Ag Ainst our holy as in own.
But all in rain thank Heaven we trumphed to God
And Patrick's prayers the praise is due.
Nor were those worthy Gaels yet satisfied
To other Pagan lands in crowds they go.
The faith received by them to scatter wide
And thus their gratitude with zeal to show.
