    Then they started to dig and they came to a big stone. When they were trying to get up the stone a big grey- hound jumped up from under it. The men got such a fright that they went home and would not go dig there for gold anymore.

    There was a family living in Mountsalem one time. They were always seeing something in the house. One day they went for the priest to drive the spirits out of the house. When the priest came he drove all the spirits into one room and locked the room. Ever since that it is called the haunted room. Some people say that the room is locked up still.
