  1. There was a very large grove, growing around a hollow, at the back of Denlany's house, which is situated in Derrycloney, Mountmellic, Laoighis. A priest was saying Mass in this hollow, when the priest-hunters came along. He was so interested in the Mass, that he did not notice their coming.
    When he was warned, he ran for a hiding place, but he was caught, and hanged in a near-by lane which is called the Stop Road. The hang -stone remains still, and it is said, that on a certain night of the year, a figure of a priest may be seen reading a prayer-book near this stone.
