    HIDING PLACES;
    One time after the breaking up of some land in Ballygillaheen a tunnel was found when digging.It was leading to a house of Bells. It was said that a priest hid himself there.
    THE PENAL DAYS;
    The penal days did not affect this district very much on account of a family of landlords called Piggots. They favoured the people and they had great influence with the English Government.
