  1. The penal laws did not affect this part of this parish to any great extent. The Pigots of Capard and the Bells of Clonduff and Ballygillaheen hid the priests and helped the Catholics, there by making the Penal Laws unworkable.

  2. There is a treasure hidden in a field in Clonduff. There are two trees in the field and the treasure is supposed ti be hidden between those trees. It is unknown when this treasure was hidden or by whom. This treasure consists of a baker of gold. Years ago a man dreamt three nights of a baker of gold. One day he went to dig for the gold.He dug until he found the baker.There was nothing in it only buttons.When he saw the
