  1. The people in olden times ate three meals,breakfast,dinner and supper. They ate their breakfast at about half past eight. In summer they got up very early in the morning. They worked until about seven o clock. Then the breakfast was brought into the field. The breakfast mostly consisted of porridge. This porridge was made from oaten meal or indian meal boiled with water. Buttermilk was used with it while (ed) eating. The dinner of the poor consisted of potatoes, salt, and buttermilk. The dinner of the richer consisted of potatoes,salted bacon which came from America and cabbage. They ate the supper at about half past six o clock. The supper consisted mostly off potatoes, salt and buttermilk.
