  1. In the back square in Athy up to seven years ago a big black down was seen.
    Jim Fennen and Jim Wall were going home from Miltown across the back square with an ass and cart. All of a sudden the ass reared up and Jim Fennen turned round and saw a a big dog. He made a swipe at it, but it vanished and when he saw it again, it was in the middle of the square walking towards the Abbey.
    It used to walk from the Abbey then to Doctor O Neill’s then up to the park and through it and
