  1. There is a Gost which goes around the church-yard in Kilmeade. One night Joe Kelly was coming home from his work and he saw him at the gateway, and Joe said "good night" to him and the ghost said "come with me and you shall never see a poor day." Joe said "I am a married man, and I have to go home to my wife and children." The ghost said "you are not a married man." And Joe took to his heels. My father told me this story. My Granfather told me before he died that he saw the gost. And Pat Kane of Kilmeade Athy said he saw it too. The grave-yard is not used now. It is in Kilmeade townland five miles North of Athy.
