  1. Local Cures.
There is a man named Dunne living in Lackagh, Monasterevan who cures the toothache. He writes a prayer on a long piece of paper and twists it like a harvester's plait which is not to be opened but hung around the person's neck and as the paper wears the pain is supposed to disappear.
In this district - Lackagh, there is a large stone with a hole in the centre, containing water which is supposed to cure warts. It is said that this stone is the remains of a monument erected in memory of the Geraldines.
