  1. My great grandmother, Katherine Thorpe used to spin wool. She would clean, tease, and card it and make it into rolls. She used attack it to the spindle and turn it with her fingers. The thread used to come back to her and she used to wind it into balls. Then she knitted socks with the white undyed wool.
