  1. A few years ago Irish soldiers were encamped near the Gibbet Rath on the Curragh. One night as the soldiers were asleep one soldier was on guard outside the encampment. About midnight the soldier was supposed to have seen a man hanging out of a gallows at the Gibbet Rath. When the soldier saw it he is supposed to have gone mad.
